Redefining student engagement
Where did we start?
UCL is a world-class university with a global reputation and a distinctive vision focusing on the integration of education and research. We were appointed by the Vice Provost Education and Student Affairs Office to develop an concise articulation of their ambition for student engagement, visual identities and key messages for a number of student engagement initiatives, and a marketing campaign for their student surveys.
What did we do?
We started with a significant phase of qualitative research, including confidential internal interviews and focus groups with students in order to ensure the effectiveness and relevance of our recommendations.
We created a set of compelling key messages and clear hierarchy of messaging for each initiative, along with engaging new visual identities to ensure they looked cohesive and would stand out against a busy environment. After developing an agreed concept for the student campaigns we wrote copy, commissioned photography, art directed the shoot and designed final layouts. The campaign was then rolled out across the campus and through digital channels.
